Hello from Korea!

Hi Everyone!

Chad and I are in Korea right now to pick Caden up.  We saw him yesterday for the first time and he is just SO CUTE!  We forgot our camera cord, so I can't post the photos I took yesterday, but here are a couple that his foster mom took and gave to us.

We'll be home on Monday!

Dallas Segway Tour

The Wasden’s traveled down to the freezing south this past week. We had a blast touring Dallas on segways, shopping, eating out, and having our Thanksgiving Feast a couple weeks early.

Being "Pregnant" is Great!!

Hello Gerber Clan!

I want to announce that there will be a new addition to the family in the coming months…

Although we have already purchased nursery furniture and baby toys are beginning to show up around our house, I am still enjoying my daily gallon(s) of diet coke, my pants still DO NOT have an elastic waist, and I haven't thrown up once!

How is this miracle possible, you ask?

Well, our baby is coming from South Korea!!! Chad and I made the decision many months ago to bring home a little one from Korea and through the mountains of paperwork we are finally beginning to see the light beyond. It is still too soon to know exactly when all this will happen, but I have penciled in a new baby for sometime this spring…

My poor mom has known about this for months but was sworn to secrecy. For months she has had to endure the Relief Society ladies bragging about their pregnant daughters and has had to sit quietly by with her mouth shut. Now she is free to talk about it as much as she likes – so give her a call and give her a chance to gush about becoming a Gramma once again!!

Oh, and if you are really interested in hearing how this all came about, check out http://www.mykoreanadoption.blogspot.com/

Love to everyone!

OK...here is the update from Texas!  It is HOT.  Duh right?!

The Race for the Cure went very well!  Thanks to everyone that donated.  We raised close to $10,000 through donations and bake sales at work.  A lot of my co workers donated homemade treats and we sold them to everyone in our office for 2 days during lunch.  We brought in almost $1000!  It was a great experience for me.

The family is great.  The kids are growing fast!  Anthony is 9 and Desiree will be 7 in September.  They will be staying with us the whole summer.  They are taking Taekwondo lessons the whole summer.  They just started classed this week and already Desiree has won best in class.  Since they did so good, I took them to get 7-11 slurpee's...their favorite treat!

Ivan is doing great.  He is working hard out in the summer heat and his mechanic shop is thriving.

I have decided to go to college.  I am currently attending Kaplan University (online) studying Medical Transcription.  After I finish my associates and get into the work I will decide if I will continue my education to pursure my bachelors in RN Administration. I have only been taking classes for 2 weeks but I have received 100% on my 4 projects I have turned in already!  Now I just have to maintain it!

I hope everyone is doing well.  Hopefully we will see everyone in October for Rem's wedding!  (I'm hoping I'll be able to get the time off to see everyone again!)  Love you all!

Iowa floods

I'm sure you've all seen on the news how bad the flood is here in Cedar Rapids.  Luckily we are not underwater...yet.  We are about 3-4 blocks from where people had to be evacuated and less than 1/2 a mile from the water.  The gas station down the street is completely underwater as are the houses of a few people in the ward.  This older couple was fixing up one of their rental houses for the missionaries to live in and now it is under water almost to the 2nd story!  We live on a hill so the water shouldn't be coming to us, but it's so weird to watch the news and see places that you go everyday that are now underwater and to not be able to get around like we normally do.  Here's some pictures of the torrential rain we were having yesterday.  Our street looked like a river and our backyard was getting to be a lake.  But otherwise we're doing good.  Just sick of being stuck inside.

Where in the world is Tahlya Sandiego?

You know you're singing the song right now.

So, where in the world IS Tahlya Sandiego?

Soon to be Guatemala (and a bunch of other locations near Guatemala).

Yes, Tahlya is going to Guatemala!!! After a year of saving her pennies, she is ON HER WAY! She will be gone for 11 days!
Tahlya: We are anxiously anticipating a report on your trip!

Updates

Elissa: How was your Race for the Cure?

Jeremy & Lynnette: We need to see some new pics of the kiddos!!!

Jessaca: I don't think I'd even recognize Taylee if I saw her... send us a photo!!

Robert: Send us something!!

Grandma & Grandpa: What's new?

This is how I roll...

This is Brogan wearing his hard hat while watching a movie. He got a Bob the Builder tool set from Auntie Erin and Uncle Chad for his birthday. At first, he didn't want much to do with it... (he was partially distracted by a Buzz Lightyear) and now, he wears the hard hat EVERYWHERE. Yes, everywhere. I should have taken a photo of him wearing it in the stroller for our walk this morning... It must be an OSHA regulation to wear one while watching The Jungle Book.

At least he's not doing this: (yet)

Hello!

Here is yet another photo of Claire... she is changing SO FAST!

She is our little "Claire"-Bear!

Tuesday, April 8, 2008

Justin did well at the Idaho State Geography Bee.  We had a lot of fun.  He is not going to the National Bee but he is okay with that...since he would have to miss the last week of school if he went.

You are all invited to COLT'S BAPTISM on MAY 3, 2008 at 6:00pm at the Stake Center in Moore.

Shayne wants me to let you know that he competed in a 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament on Saturday and his team won 1st place in the 9th-12th Grade Division.  They had kids from Arco, Mackay, and Challis in the competition.

Shayne was elected as the Prom King today....although he still refuses to ask anyone to the dance.  He says that he is going to go so that he can get his crown.  Have you ever heard of a Prom King without a date.

Erin's Thesis is Approved!

Hi everyone!
BreAnne has been bugging me to post something to the GG - but I was waiting until I had something interesting to tell:

After submitting my thesis to the committee back in November, I finally found out today that it was officially approved! Now it needs to go to an editor who will check over the formatting (page numbers, table of contents, etc.) to make sure it is perfect before it gets published. But all of my work is done. I really will be graduating in May!!

Justin just received notice that he has made it as one of the competitors in the Idaho State Geography Bee competition on April 4th, 2008 in Boise.  This happened after winning the school Geography Bee and taking a test to see if he qualified for the state bee.  Make sure that you all congratulate him.  We will let you all know how he does.

Claire's Blessing Day!

We blessed Claire in church yesterday. Gary did an excellent job! Claire was so cute when he held her up afterward - she sat up straight and just looked around with her big blue eyes! It was so funny!
Here are some pictures from our lunch after church...

Brogan having a BLAST with his cousins and friends...
(isn't he so handsome in his suit)

Britany with Little McKay...

Grandma FINALLY got to hold Claire (after church, after lunch)...

Here's a picture of the kids when Artice and Steph came to visit. We had a great time and wish we lived closer to them and could see them more often.

The other picture is in front of our house. Some old lady crashed into the snow, luckily someone came and pulled her car out quickly. All you warm weather people just be glad you aren't here. It has been one long, cold winter!

February 12, 2008- Ryan and Brianne Moss

Hello everyone, I've been home sick with the flu yesterday and now today and I'm running out of things to do. No, I can't just sit in bed and recuperate like I should, I have to be dinking around with something, so I decided to write a bit for the blog! Since I graduated in December, I've been out of school and just working and it is niiiice to just work! Bri is in nursing school, and won't be done until this coming fall, so now its my turn to really help out around the house. I've been getting spoiled since we got married, she's a really good cook! But the latest news from us is that we just got a cute little puppy! He's a Yorkie, which are those little brown dogs with really long straight hair- I named him: Kratos Dogowar Moss. He's really mischievous, and really a lot of fun! I'll see if I can upload some photos of him, I have to take them off the camera first... Other than that we have been snowboarding alot this season, Bri is getting really good! TTFN!
