Introducing Jack MinJoon Morris!
Meet Jack, the newest member of our family! After waiting almost two years, we were finally able to make the trip to Korea to bring back this little guy. He will be turning two on July 20th.
We have been having a lot of fun getting to know him, and have this to report:
- He loves having his diaper changed, playing peek-a-boo, dogs, being held and snuggled, and eating seaweed.
- His best friend in the world, "Stinky Hippo", made the long trip to Tempe with us and has been by Jack's side ever since arriving here.
- He has a very naughty sense of humor...for example, he will nonchalantly walk up to a can of diet coke on an end table and bat it to the floor, then laugh hysterically.
- When he first met his new Mama (me) he repeatedly tried to rip my nose off of my face. I'll admit, it is kind of a weird looking nose...especially by Asian standards, but really. At the airport he gave me a huge bloody nose by sticking his thumb (yes, thumb) up my nose about 1.5 inches, so I quickly learned to duck out of the way of his hand. He is learning to be a little more gentle now.
- He gives excellent hugs.
- He can work the TV remote better than Caden can.
- He is a pig. If you are eating something, you better have brought enough to share because you will be sharing (or you can lock yourself in the bathroom to eat in privacy).
- He has bigger teeth than Caden, and he has a brilliantly huge grin.
- It is surprising how much can be communicated with one word. "A Dool!" is Jack's all-purpose word. I wonder what it means in Korean? Anyway, Jack hasn't started saying any English words yet, but Caden has picked up "A Dool!".
And that is everything from the first three weeks. Jack is still mourning the loss of his foster family and country, but every day he seems to become more and more comfortable being here with us.
